We have some wonderful canvas in this class. There are some new folks in the class as well. They have never taken an Enhancemnt class with Tony at The Needle Works. Welcome Karen E. , Rhonda B., Judy B., Jane M. , Kate C.
More pictures tomorrow on the progress that has been made.
It always takes us a bit to come down from the excitement of Market.
It is three fast and furious days and then we come home and jump back into shop mode. Telling the other ladies what we found. The possibility of new threads (Jennie almost fainted), toys we found (can't wait for the tiny bow maker to get here) and then the never ending orders of the canvas that will soon start pouring into the store.
If you missed the posts from the show be sure and go back and check out some of what we found.
Below is a recap of those artists who have updated there sites or new artists we found.
Sorry if I missed someone. As sites are updated I will share.
Have fun looking...Give us a call for pricing if you see something you like.
Now for Share a Stitch...
Todays stitch is a Balloon Stitch that has been tied and crossed. When I was looking at it and letting my imgination go, I thought of a wheat field with bundles of wheat. Use an over-dyed stranded thread such as a silk or cotton.
We will have Studio Time this week on Tuesday and Thursday only. Please call to sign up
Corliss - Tuesday 10:30-1:00
Colleen - Thursday 10:30- 1:00 and 2:00-4:30
Tony gets into town on Thursday so we will not have any Studio Time on Saturday
Have a great Monday..It is gorgeous in Austin, Texas.
Alomost forgot...The web store is updated with new canvas that we got in before Market
Day 2 is done and we are back in the room. We decided to blog before dinner so you have tonight to peruse the pictures and email with any orders or questions. Tomorrow is a short day with the show ending at 2.
If you see anything that interest you that I have posted or you see on the Artists web sites, please email us at
I am checking email throught the day and will get back to you.
Here are the offerings for today. Keep in mind this is just a smattering of what we ordered. If the artist have updated there wen site I will give the link so you can go check it out.
Debbie from Painted Pony has some great new artist that she is working with. This tree was a personal favorite and one that I would love to stitch myself.
Artists are alwats trying to come up with great new ideas what we can do with our work. Cheryl Schaeffer has Cake Plates. You get the cake plate, an adorable canvas to stitch and put on top and then a pexi glass top for it so that you can put cookies, cupcakes or anything you want on top. How cute would it be to add needlepointed cookies or cupcakes on top for a festive decoration.
Small plates $127 Large Plates $184.00
Barbara Bergsten has this great Cookie Christmas Tree that is on 14 count. All of her canvas have guides that are free and downloadable on her web site.
Melissa Shirley has completely updated her site but I just realized there are a few not up on the site. I will get those up soon. There is one that speaks to me for a class... you will just have to wait and see
Last night we went to what is called Sample-it. We get to purchase a few items from several artist that have chosen to participate,
Danji Mini Socks
Adorable Idian with Coyote and Wagon
Igloo with a family of Penquins
More great Candy Canes
Seasons from Mindy
Adorable House with a guide by Vickie DeAngelis
Bunnies, Bunnies everywhere.
I will get pricing up later....
They also have a Showcase Cocktail Party and several of the Artist set up table with new canvas or stitched designs that they will have in there booth. I think one one my favorites was the 3D Rooster from Patti Mann. I am not sure the price but will get that later today.
Labors of Love has updated their website so go check it out.
Corliss has 5 of the Horses done and I am hard pressed to pick a favorite. I can't wait to get them to the finisher.
Now for a couple of changes....
Studio Time will be going to 2 1/2 hours and be $20.00. It has been 15 years since we had a price increase and we decided to add to the time a bit as well.
Be sure and check the Calender for dates and times. When we have national teachers in town or any other classes going on, we do not have Studio Time.
Now for the first Share a Stitch of the New Year. Working on a project I wanted something different for a feather look so I took a stitch put of the Landscapes book and modified it a little bit and actually came up with 2 stitches. I also think the second one might be nice for a stormy sky.
Hope to see you in 2015...

Between Llano and Fredericksburg on Highway 16 there is a beautiful road called the Willow City Loop. It meanders through private ranches and it just amazing. The vistas and fields of wildflowers are amazing. Because of the rain and cold winter we had the Bluebonnets are particularly stunning. The white Poppies make the fields look they are covered in snow.
