What a glorious break this has been. I apologize for not getting a stitch to you last week but today is the first day I have even opened up my work computer. I took a break completely, except for stitching of course.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Austin finally got some cold weather on Christmas Day. I went to my cousins house and it was 60 degrees at noon. When I left her house at 6 a cold front had moved in and it was 40 outside. Several nights it got down into the high 20s. I know, I know, those of you who live in the north are laughing at me right now, but remember, we get 100s in the summer so this is cold for us.
At the moment I am in Houston at a friends house who lives in the neighborhood I grew up in. Though houses have been torn down and bigger ones built, the house I was raised in is still there.
I am here for a stitching weekend and I plan on getting a good bit done on the 1st canvas of the Nativity Series done. I have made great headway and am pleased with what I have done so far.

Laurie is working on her Thanksgiving House from Amy and making great strides.
We are heading to the grocery store for provisions for the day so we can settle in to stitch.
Today's stitch is Oriental Stitch. I love this stitch because of the movement you get. Use it for snow or a mountainside. I would use a silk for the longer stitches and them a metallic for the the smaller stitches flanking each side.
Have a Happy and Safe New Year Celebration!
